Stanley's Grotto

Stanley's Grotto is on the backside of the school-aged area of the Playground by the Sound. There is a hole in this component, and this is a good spot for parents to photograph their children. On the side facing the bulk of the playground, the hole transforms a child's head into an octopus head.

Map of the Puget Sound

I have essentially gone through an alphabetical list of all of the components of the Playground by the Sound. When I originally created this list, there were still a couple of touches that had not yet been added. For that reason, there are two items that have become the subjects of my pictures but have I have not yet shared in this blog. The first of these two items is very simple. It's a map of the Puget Sound.

Whale Spring Toy

The Whale Spring toy is the whale version of the Frog Spring Toy in the Tot Lot at the Playground by the Sound.

Vertical Ladder

The Vertical Ladder is what you probably expect. It's located in the school aged area of the Playground by the Sound.

Tug Boat

The Tug Boat is a very simple component in the Tot Lot at the Playground by the Sound.

Tic-Tac-Toe

Tic-Tac-Toe is a straightforward component in the tot lot at the Playground by the Sound. As such, I probably don't need to do much explaining.

Stage

The stage in the school-aged area of the Playground by the Sound is perhaps the simplest component of the playground. It's easily overlooked because it's on the backside of the playground.

Spiral Tube Slide

On the backside of the School-aged area of the Playground by the Sound, there is a Spiral Tube Slide. Children can run along the top of the playground an exit via the slide.

Soft Climber

The Soft Climber can be found in the school-aged area of the Playground by the Sound near the entrance. Children can climb chains to reach the upper area of the playground.

Shark Tunnel

The Shark Tunnel is a simple structure in the Tot Lot of the Playground by the Sound where kids can walk or run through.

Sea Life Box

Time for a simple explanation for one of the components in the tot lot of the Playground by the Sound. The Sea Life Box is a sandbox. It's been decorated a little with fish and other types of sea life surrounding the box.

Rubber Bridge

The Rubber Bridge is a rubbery sheet in the school-aged area of the Playground by the Sound that children can walk over. I can't say anything about how much give or bounce the surface provides since I have neither used the component my self nor been a creepy guy watching other people's children using it.

Ring Bridge

I have already posted about the Low Rings. There is a similar component, the Ring Bridge,  in the school-aged area of the Playground by the Sound. This is a series of rings that children can swing across.

Pod Hops

The Pod Hops can be found on the far end of the school-aged area at the Playground by the Sound. It's a series of small round platforms for children to jump across. There are three ends with the platforms being installed in roughly a Y pattern.

Phone

I hate phones, but I have to make a post on them. Why? Because it’s one of the components of the school-aged area of the Playground by the Sound. I’m not going to tell you how well they work. Since I’m not a phone guy, I haven’t exactly tested them.

Moving Beam

The moving beam is essentially a balance beam that can move a little.It can be found in the school aged area of the Playground by the Sound.

Monkey Bars

I’m sure I don’t have to explain what Monkey Bars are. We have a set in the school-aged area in the Playground by the Sound.

Metal Tot Swings

Much like the metal swings of the school aged area, the Tot Lot’s Metal Tot Swings are disconnected from the rest of the Playground by the Sound. The types of swings are different from the school aged area and come in two types.

Metal Tire Swing

The metal tire swing can be found on the outer edge of the school-aged area of the Playground by the Sound. It’s connected to the Metal Swings, but it’s disconnected from the other playground components. This makes it one of the easier components for parents to watch.

Metal Swings

There are two sets of swings at the Playground by the Sound. When people think of swings, they think of the kind found in the school-aged area. There is a set with two of these swings and a tire swing disconnected from the rest of the playground. Since we all know what swings are like, I don’t think much of a description is necessary.
