August 2013 Weather Summary

August started off well enough for us, and I even spent some time outside just to enjoy the weather (hearing rain and immediately heading outdoors). There is absolutely no question that August was a fairly significant improvement over July. Since that wasn't an everyday occurrence, it's not a proper representation of the month as a whole. So what was this month like overall. We got some much needed rain. We also had a lot of heat. We frequently hit the 80's and rarely avoided the 70's. We set a record for warm nights. Even most of our wet days were well outside of my comfort range. I felt like we were having a below-average August, but it wasn't going to be among our worst. I was kind of surprised when it came out as the 6th worst (perhaps comparisons to July and last August are throwing me off).

One more thing. We dropped for our year-to-date standings. We are having the third worst year through August.
