Like all independent thinkers, I am a social outcast

Deep down, I am a big believer in independent thought. Let me clarify what I mean by independent. I don't like to turn to others to tell me what I think. Because of this, my thought process is abnormally disconnected from the mainstream.

We are living in the most mindless conformist era in the history of humanity. Most of us don't realize just how much our thoughts are being influenced by others. For example, we have a very rigid and very narrow perspective on social acceptability. Most people don't want to be socially unacceptable, so they conform their views to these standards.

Because of how narrow social acceptability standards have become, it is absolutely impossible to meet these standards unless you allow the mainstream to dictate your thoughts. If you refuse to allow social acceptability to hinder your thought process, it's impossible to fit each and every point demanded from you. This is why all independent thinkers in the modern world are social outcasts.

Political correctness and cancel culture have further strengthened our mindless conformity. It's wrong to think anything that contradicts political correctness, and you can be punished for any kind of deviation. Because of our extreme intolerance, I have been known to hold back in what I say. This hasn't kept me from developing my own beliefs, thoughts, and opinions. It just means that I have to keep my good side to myself. In the modern world, my life could very well be on the line if I opened up too much. I seriously wish we would stop threatening the livelihoods of those who refuse to abandon thought
