Have you noticed an obsession with zombies in recent years? I have seen numerous survival computer games lately that utilize those creatures. There also seem to be a lot of movies and television shows with that same theme.
I have no right to dictate your opinion. If you like zombies, I'm fine with that. The issue here is that we have gone overboard. Although not nearly as bad, we have seen similar overreliances on vampires and werewolves.
The amount of variety that we are seeing in regards to fantasy creatures is a joke. We need more. Someone really needs to invent a new fantasy universe that is open to public and commercial usage without constraints. If successful, we might finally have the variety that we are seriously lacking.
