July 2015 Weather Summary

Another month has gone by, and another month has broken records. Speaking of broken records, am I starting to sound like one? I can deviate from the usual dialog this time by mentioning that this was the hottest month ever, not just for July, by average temperature. This also shows in my temperature score, although there is a bit of a quirk to that score.

January 1950 had a significantly worse score. Since we seem to be getting warmer, I don't think January 1950 will ever move off of that number one worst score. In fact, I mentioned the temperature scores last August, and the score for that particular month has predictably decreased (keep in mind that scores are based off of constantly changing averages and extremes). Conversely, the warm months on the list have seen their scores increase.

It was also a dry month. Unlike last month, we at least we had some measurable rain while I was actually here. When it hit, I headed outdoors. Of course, that limited moisture did not help the score. Overall, this turned out to be our worst month ever. Again, I'm not just talking about the month of July.
