Our long first day is coming to an end, and I decided not to
limit the vacation log to just volcano reports. While the bulk of our day was
focused on travel and settling in, we did make one stop. We visited Shawnee Prairie.
Mosquitos provided a bit of a distraction, but we at least got the Blue Jay and
Cardinal we wanted. We also saw a Rabbit, at least one Swallow, a Fox Squirrel,
a Flicker, nesting Geese, a House Sparrow, Deer, a Vulture, a Heron, a Robin,
and a couple Wood Ducks.
