May 2014 Weather Summary

It was somewhat hard to get a sense of how this moth would turn out. There has been a lot of talk about how wet it's been lately. We set a record for rain in the six-month February through July time frame with two months to go. It certainly didn't feel like a wet month. Perhaps part of the reason for this is because the bulk of the rain we saw was heavier that typical instead of spread out. I'm also fairly confident that February through April had more to do with the record than May.

We had several days that were abnormally hot for this time of year. Despite the wet days that got so much attention, temperatures were a bit of a problem. In fact, this is the fifth worst temperature score for May that we have ever recorded.
