Vacation 2011–Day 13

Today turned out to be another driving day. We were a little slow getting out partially thanks to a black bear that was blocking the exit. We also saw a Woodpecker, Steller’s Jay, and Robins on our way out.

We are starting to work our way back home. We followed route 95 south along the Columbia River. I know. We were going upstream instead of downstream, and Washington is definitely downstream. Even so, we are getting a little closer to home. Along this stretch, we saw Ospreys, Geese, Ducks, a Chickadee, and Robins. We also saw our only Bear crossing sign of this trip. It was conveniently near signs warning drivers to slow down when children are present.

We have made camp at Lake Moyie Provincial Park. There are a couple of short trails nearby that we have hiked. Since most of our sightings were flowers and I suck at identifying flowers, I will just say that we saw a Woodpecker and Ravens.

Edit: We also saw a Varied Thrush at Illecillewaet Campground
