There are several goals related to this project that I have decided to write down. These goals are intended more for explaining this project than to dictate how I think on every single subject.

Prioritize recreation

The modern sports world tends to emphasize elite competitions such as the major sports leagues and the Olympics. From a societal perspective, there should be more value in the recreational side of sports. The idea here is to use sports to encourage people to live physically active lifestyles.

Make sports accessible

If someone wants to play a sport, the option should be available. There should also be options to learn about a sport prior to any significant commitment. These values should relate to more than just the most popular sports.

Promote fairness

If possible, I want to find ways to ensure that competitors are not unfairly placed in an unwinnable situation. Within games, players should be encouraged to play with honor. The structure for sporting events should try to minimize outside influences on outcomes.

Remember the purpose of this project

This is a brainstorming project. It is fully acceptable to explore bad ideas or to look at possibilities that deviate from core ideas. Realism is not a primary goal. One idea that I have embraced for the sake of brainstorming is to envision total control over the sports world. That concept alone shows how I am willing to sacrifice plausibility in favor of idea generation.
