Dealing with Comcast

We recently lost our Internet connection. The experience was... Let's just say I need to vent. I didn't take notes throughout the process, so I might make some mistakes when it comes to details. I might even forget about one of the frustrations that emerged.

Mindless conformity versus independent thought

We are living through the most mindless conformist era in the history of humanity. Mindlessness and conformity go together. If you're mindless, you are likely to rely on others to tell you who you are. If you are a conformist, it's unlikely that you are willing to form beliefs, thoughts, and opinions that could separate you from the mainstream.

Another reason for change

For years, I have discussed a desire to take time off and pursue much needed change. I have provided multiple reasons for that desire. I haven't been living up to my own belief system, which involves evolving as an individual. I want to correct past mistakes. I want to pursue various goals in life.

Equality of states vs. equality of people

Periodically, an interesting thought enters my mind. These thoughts aren't always well developed, and they frequently haven't been checked much for validity. I have decided to document one of those ideas while it's still in my head. At this point, I'm not entirely sure if it's positive, negative, somewhere in between, or other.

The voter spin

Democrats are making a big deal right now about how they took their gerrymandering proposals to voters and Republicans did not. On the surface, this definitely makes the Democrats look good. If you look any deeper, I'm not impressed.

Venting about gerrymandering

I generally try to stay out of other states' business. What we just saw in Virginia is something that I simply can't overlook. This is quite possibly the most extreme gerrymander I have ever seen.
