Can you define woman? Actually, don't. This has become too much of a copy-paste conservative talking point. Besides that, the Democrats seem to change their definitions based on convenience.
According to the Democrats, gender is primarily about identity. You are whatever gender you see yourself as. This isn't limited to the typical binary genders. If you don't see yourself as male or female, we need to respect your gender identity. That is, of course, unless you are playing sports. In that case, non-binary athletes absolutely must compete as a gender they don't identify as.
Speaking of sports, men and women must be treated as equals. This means that women must be given their own professional leagues so that they don't have to compete against men. Of course, the men's leagues aren't technically for men only. Although women have yet to reach the top of these leagues, could you imagine the outrage if these leagues created rules that prohibited women. Such rules would be attacked for being sexist.
If you don't want to be sexist, you must embrace the idea that women can't compete with men. You must insist that the inferiority of women requires separate leagues. These leagues, however, must be treated as equal with men's leagues except with gender-based requirements. Personally, I prefer not to gender sports in the first place, especially when we should be encouraging people to play for recreational purposes. This approach would likely be much better for nonbinary athletes than the approach promoted by the Democrats.
Issues relating to gender don't stop at sports. Biologically, reproduction has long been the primary identifier of genders. Women were the parents who gave birth. Now, this is considered transphobic. This has also led to the rise of a new term, birth-giving parent.
When it comes to abortions, Democrats embrace what seems like transphobic rhetoric. If you oppose abortions, you are engaging in a war on women rather than a war on birth-giving parents. When the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, the Democrats criticized the decision on the grounds that the Supreme Court consists primarily of men, and men can't have abortions.
Democrats tried to rally around this Supreme Court decision. They started campaigning on a single issue, women's rights. What did they mean by women's rights? The right to an abortion. How is that not transphobic? More importantly, is that really how Democrats see women? I'm pretty sure there's more to womanhood and women's rights than abortions. Am I the only one disturbed that so many Democrats seem to define women as abortion factories?
Obviously, I'm not a Democrat. I may not attack people over gender identity like a lot of conservatives, but I also see women as more than abortion factories. More than anything, I view women as people. I believe they should have fundamental human rights and freedoms such as freedom of thought, freedom of speech, and the right to individuality. These are rights and freedoms under heavy attack by the Democrats. This is why I struggle to understand how anyone who cares about women can maintain loyalty to the Democrats.
