I have long insisted that we should all strive to evolve as individuals. For various reasons, I have not been following my own advice. This includes problems that I have with the response to change. As one of my many self-evaluations, I have decided to look into what kinds of changes I really should make in my life. Unfortunately, obstacles will likely be too much for me to overcome.
We support educational rights 0 days each year. Ideally, a typical year should include 365 days of support. I have long insisted that a single day can give us a start.
I have been talking about creating an Educational Rights Day for a long time. This was even included with my ideas for an educational rights organization. I'm not going to spend too much time repeating myself, but I should probably provide a quick explanation. The general idea behind an Educational Rights Day is to make a hard push to promote and support independent learning one day a year.
Unlike most of my ideas, I could implement an Educational Rights Day right now. It wouldn't reflect the form I have been promoting. The support wouldn't be there. Regardless, one individual embracing one day a year to dedicate to educational pursuits does not require anyone else to embrace the concept.
As I have already admitted, I allowed our anti-educational society to bully me out of my educational pursuits. Dedicating one day out of the year towards my education could help me correct one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made.
I have mentioned the possibility of celebrating a Learner Appreciation Week. I view such a week as complementary to an Educational Rights Day. What better way is there to celebrate learners than to give them a day on which they are free to learn?
If I celebrated an Educational Rights Day, it would likely occur in the middle of Learner Appreciation Week. Even if we are not ready for the week, the timing of an Educational Rights Day could reflect the desire to eventually bring the two together. I have suggested using the week that contains the first Monday of June for Learner Appreciation Week. This would make the Wednesday after the first Monday in June my best target. Even without others embracing the concept, I could promise myself that I will dedicate that one day to educational rights.
