Jay Inslee has announced that he will not be running for reelection. When Inslee first ran, he positioned himself as a one-issue candidate. His lone issue was climate change. Although I haven't had any recent updates, I have heard that carbon emissions have increased under Inslee's leadership. A one-issue candidate needs a better record on the one issue than we have seen from Inslee.
How has he acted beyond the one issue as required by his job? Inslee is hyperpartisan. Every decision he makes is for the benefit of the Democrats and their agenda. He has repeatedly proven that he doesn't care about anyone else. I'm not just talking about Republicans. Anyone who doesn't mindlessly conform to the Democrats' agenda had been treated as second-class citizens.
Under Inslee's leadership, our state has become more intolerant and full of hate. The cost of living has skyrocketed. Rights and freedoms have been diminished in favor of an undeniably authoritarian regime. Quality of life has absolutely plummeted for those of us who refuse to let the Democrats control every aspect of our lives.
Jay Inslee might be the worst governor our state has ever had. Why do we keep voting for him? In short, Seattle is full of mindless voters who would proudly elect Hitler if he ran as a Democrat. Quite frankly, they weren't far off with Inslee. Seattle also has a reputation for liberal extremism, which has led to a flood of extremists moving to the state. These extremists have not seen how our state has deteriorated under blind loyalty to the Democratic party.
Our state has essentially devolved into a single-party system. It doesn't matter how bad the candidates are, we always elect the Democrat. Because the Democrats don't need support outside of liberal extremists, they don't even try. They don't care one bit about the immense harm they are causing to those who maintain minority viewpoints. This is the party that openly boasts about majority rule. They don't care one bit about the minority of the state unless it's a minority status they can exploit.
If Inslee isn't going to be our governor, who will we elect? Unfortunately, I think I know who the Democrats will install. Ever since he was elected as our Attorney General, Bob Ferguson has been campaigning to become Inslee's replacement. He has aggressively held press conferences surrounding his actions to make sure his name is in the news. He has made it very clear that he does not represent the people of Washington. He represents himself.
Like Inslee, Ferguson embraces hyperpartisanship. His lawsuits predictably follow partisan lines. He has become a highly polarizing figure in our state. Liberal extremists love him. Everybody else hates him. Unfortunately, extremists outnumber the rest of the population.
Inslee might be the worst governor that we have had so far. That doesn't mean that we can't do worse. Personally, I think Ferguson is certain to take our state to new lows. The man is a self-absorbed extremist pandering to extremists. He absolutely can't be our next governor, but he probably will be. I was saying this even before he announced his exploratory campaign.
Right now, we desperately need a Republican governor. It doesn't even have to be a good Republican governor. We just need someone who will establish that our state won't blindly follow the Democrats off a cliff. I don't know who is running yet, but I already know who is getting my vote. I will support whoever faces Ferguson.
