Income inequality

What if we could eliminate income inequality? Everyone would be equally able to afford anything. This includes individuals who aren't really contributing. The number of people contributing would likely drop because there would be less incentive. Reduced productivity would lead to fewer possibilities to use your income. Scarcity would increase prices, and the benefits would pretty much disappear.

We can't eliminate income inequality. That doesn't mean that we can't reduce income inequality. Simply put, we need at least some income inequality, but the amount is a matter of opinion. Personally, I think pushing against the flawed and inequitable concept of credentialism and restoring pathways for individuals to work their way to the top can be highly beneficial. Additionally, deregulation could potentially help smaller businesses compete against larger businesses that can more easily absorb regulations.

If we really want to address income inequality, we need to consider the consequences. I would like to see a reduction in the gap between the rich and the poor, but we can't push too hard. Technically speaking, if we force everyone into poverty, we are reducing income inequality. Is that really what we want?
