A lot of people insist that they like Apple products because they “just work.” Never mind some odd issues with recent Apple products like their phones requiring you to hold them a certain way if you want reception or the early iPads that were known to overheat if exposed to sunlight.
Apple’s recent approach to electronics is to find a developing market, slap their logo on it, market like crazy, and double the price. You can always find better for half the price. This is why fans use the “It just works” argument. They can’t win arguments with objective points, so that have to resort to a flimsy subjective point.
Arguments against Apple aren’t just about price. They are also about functionality. The iPad took an evolving tablet market and turned a serious product into a gimmicky toy. If I want a tablet, I’m going to buy one that does what I want it to. If a product is worth a ton of money just because it works, I have a rock that works better as a rock than the iPad works as a tablet. I’ll sell it to you for $500.
