I don't let others tell me what I think. In our conformist world, that has turned me into an outcast. After years of pretending to be just another mindless drone, I feel obligated to start showing the real me. This is a personal blog where I can vent about various frustration and share a wide variety of thoughts.

Nisqually Boardwalk
At the start of the month, the new boardwalk at Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge finally opened. I didn’t attend the opening, but I did get to walk the trail today with my sister. In short, the boardwalk extends the existing trail over the estuary. While the previous trail system didn’t give us any good looks at the distant saltwater, the saltwater now comes to us during high tide. With the boardwalk now open, we can see saltwater life that was previously inaccessible from the refuge. While I have seen Horned Grebes and Loons (probably Common Loons) in the Puget Sound before, this was the first time that we had noticed either one at Nisqually.
