It's that time of year again to discuss changes being made to my online presence. This year is a little different. Instead of reevaluating my online presence for some changes that will start with the new year, I'm focusing on changes that are already in progress.
2025 was the year of clearing out backlogs. When I started this blog (and my educational blog), I wrote down a bunch of ideas for posts. I added to this list faster than I wrote the posts. Eventually, my initial set of ideas had made it to my list, and I started posting faster than I added new ideas to this list. For the first time since I started this blog, I ended up without any ideas left on my list.
Obviously, I still intend to add ideas as they emerge. If I completely run out of ideas, I can always pursue a never-ending type of post such as revisiting mental exercises. For now, I think I have enough to do. My rate of posting has declined, and you shouldn't expect the rate to pick up anytime soon.
My Idea Outlet is in a similar situation. I had a bunch of ideas to start, and I managed to clear my list. I have been alternating lately between My Idea Outlet and a personal project. My personal project also started from a list that I managed to clear.
Currently, I'm working on some noteworthy changes to my sports project. I couldn't make these changes without losing unposted work I had done. This is why I have decided to target 2027 for my current work. That means that all of my updates for 2026 are already complete. Like last year, I will post updates to My Idea Outlet until I'm caught up for the year.
I have redeveloped a backlog while working on my sports project. I think it's safe to say that won't last. Similarly, I have a new backlog for my personal project. I think it's safe to say that not only will I clear that backlog, but I will have both empty at the same time. When that happens, I will have to make another change.
I do not want each day available to me to be the same. When I catch up with My Idea Outlet and my personal project, I will need something new. I have two ideas right now that I would prefer not to share at this time. I certainly have time before I decide, and my new project doesn't have to be one of these two.
When this happens, keep in mind that I'm not abandoning My Idea Outlet or the personal project that I mentioned. Ideas will emerge, and I will go back. This will likely be separate from the new project. This will further slow any work I put into my blogs.
The bottom line here is that there is good news for people who hate my blogs. The rate at which I post has been reduced, and I will likely be slowing things down even further.
