My Idea Outlet: Educational Rights>Educational Resource Center>Resources

A new page, Educational Resource Center>Resources, has been added to my Educational Rights notebook for My Idea Outlet. The contents can be found below.

Obviously, an educational resource center would need educational resources. These resources come in several forms. The most obvious would be documentation. This would include such things as books and internet access. Similarly, CD's, DVD's, and other informational products could be viewed as educational resources.

You can find a lot of informational educational resources at a library. There are a lot of additional types of resources that aren't quite as easy to access. Various tools and supplies are vital to truly learn. For example, if you want to learn how to play a musical instrument, you need access to that instrument. If you want to learn how to cook, you need access to a kitchen. If you want to learn computer programming, you need a computer with an installed programming language.

Another resource type is people. This is the closest concept to teachers that I will be discussing in regards to an educational resource center. Any individuals hired as resources should view their jobs as assisting learners who are teaching themselves rather than taking personal responsibility for teaching.

I intend to further explain the types of resources that should be made available. I also intend to explain a little about how supplies can be acquired and shared.
