A while back, an official White House account posted something along the lines of, "Long live the king." They included an image of Donald Trump with a crown. Although I have plenty of issues with our current government, that doesn't mean that I want a king.
An argument could be made that this was a form of trolling. There are many Democrats who have insisted that Trump is acting like a king. To me, that does not justify embracing the label with pride.
This is an ongoing issue that I have had with Trump. Trump and his staff have said some truly disturbing things over the years. Keep in mind that Trump also said he would only be a dictator on day one. I'm sorry, but even one day of acting like a dictator is wrong.
In the past, he said something that hit me especially hard. I forget his exact words, but he said something about loving uneducated voters. I don't think the message he was trying to say was too bad, but he worded it in an absolutely atrocious manner.
For those who don't know me, I differentiate between schooling and education. I have nothing against people whose educations come outside of a collegiate environment. By contrast, the Democrats have tried to use college degrees as the defining characteristic of educated voters. Trump was not only feeding this faulty narrative, but he was insulting the people he was trying to sway.
There are well-educated individuals who don't even have a GED. There are poorly educated individuals with doctorates. There are much better ways than Trump could have tried to persuade voters without college degrees. He could have argued that people without degrees should not let the Democrats get away with calling them uneducated. Instead, he insulted them.
I have a serious problem with Trump's rhetoric. That's part of the reason that I refused to vote for him. That said, it could be so much worse. Democrats in recent years have tried to control just about every aspect of our lives including what we are allowed to think, what we are allowed to know, what we are allowed to believe, who we are allowed to associate with, what we are allowed to eat, what we are allowed drink, and who we are allowed to vote for. Then there's their insane views on education. They are trying to tightly restrict what, where, when, why, and how we are allowed to learn. This is why I couldn't vote for Kamala Harris.
I couldn't handle the thought of being responsible for giving either one of those buffoons any power, so I voted for a third-party candidate. If I absolutely had to choose between them, I likely would have voted for Trump. I can handle his horrible rhetoric better than the destructive policies Harris wanted to implement. This raises an interesting question. What does it say about the Democrats that Donald Trump was the lesser of two evils?
