Are African-Americans oppressed?

Liberals keep pushing the idea that we still have a long way to go to address racism against African Americans. Although racism still exists, I believe they have substantially underestimated the progress that has been made. They also seem to embrace flawed tactics such as encouraging citizens to develop prejudice against whites.

Before I go any further, I want to pursue the question that I asked in the title above. Are African Americans oppressed? In short, I believe they are highly oppressed.

Over the years, our government has become larger and more oppressive. They have passed all sorts of laws that are designed to control such things as where we live, what we eat, how we learn, and worst of all, who we are allowed to be.

Yes, African Americans are oppressed. The problem is that it's not the African component of the ethnic label causing the oppression. It's that they are Americans.

The liberal rhetoric had seriously fueled racial tensions, and the Democratic party is clearly benefiting from those tensions. As they have pushed an era of mental slavery, they have shifted the blame to race. African Americans think they are oppressed because of systemic racism against them. Whites tend to think they are oppressed because the government gives preferential treatment to minorities.

We need to stop all of this bickering. All races are in this mess together. Hating each other shifts the blame from who is primarily at fault, the government (and their anti-educational schools). If we really want to end oppression, we need to become more united. Hating each other only benefits the government, and they are certainly not going to fight oppression.
