We all heard it when we were Young. What do you want to be when you grow up? While this may sound innocent, it was the wrong question. There was another that should have been asked instead. Who do you want to be when you grow up?
We have overemphasized careers as though they define who we are. Quite frankly, this is shallow. Who we are should always be deeper than our jobs.
Ultimately, having a good job should not be valued as much as being a good person. Our priorities are complete screwed up. I may be among the minority here, but I care more about who we are than what we are.
