September 2014 Weather Summary

Through most of September, we were following that same awful weather pattern that we had to deal with all summer. As soon as fall hit on September 22, the weather improved significantly. It wasn't enough to undo the damage of summer, and we still recorded our second worst temperatures.

Thanks to some rain that conveniently appeared for the fall, we were only at the ninth worst September recorded. Everybody needs to thank the rain. Overall, this month dropped us to the fourth worst year through September. Despite our better start, we are now doing worse than last year.

As for the early signs of October, we're not looking too good. We started decently, but are turning to a drier, warmer pattern. Long-range models are pretty much consistent that we are supposed to be warmer than usual. We shouldn't be anywhere near as bad as the last few months, but it will probably still end up below average.
