Traps

As I keep saying, America is not a free country. Instead, we are lured into traps that create the illusion of freedom.

The primary trap is in the form of societal pressure. This is when the mainstream is convinced that something is true. If you don’t know what the mainstream knows, you look ignorant. Most people will mindlessly accept the mainstream beliefs regardless of validity.

This leads to another trap, conformity. In order to be accepted, we have to fit in with the mainstream. This is where the illusion of freedom kicks in. If we change who we are in order to fit who this country wants us to be, we are free to be that person.

Another big trap is our schooling system. The schools promote mindlessness and conformity. This makes us vulnerable to manipulation by others including the government and the media. It also ensures that we can’t stand up for ourselves and what is right. There are also a lot of other harmful quirks related to the schools, but I will try to keep most of them on my education blog.

Let’s not forget propaganda and nationalism. We are pressured into maintaining a blind loyalty to our country. This combines with societal pressure to get citizens to ignore the flaws and exaggerate the strengths. Here in America, people refuse to question the overall quality of the country in fear of being labeled as Un-American.

What these traps do is they take away rights, make us believe that we have the rights that they are taking away from us, make us easy to manipulate, and ensure that our lives are in the hands of others.
