June 2012 Weather Summary

I have decided to add something somewhat new to my blog. From now on, I will try to provide a recap of the weather for each month based on my Washingtonian Weather Index. I have included tables for the month of June, our June weather over the years ranked by score, and year to date ranked by score. We enjoyed our 12th best June since 1949 (the first full June that I have information for) and we are having our 6th best year so far (also since 1949). All of this seems to make sense since I heard that we had no officially sunny days during the month!

It's time to make a quick explanation as to why I am starting these monthly updates. If you checked my blog before this post, you would have seen that I have actually signed up for a Google+ account. I was trying to think of some content that some people might find interesting and that I could share on a regular basis. My thoughts quickly turned to my weather index. Unfortunately, this kind of content is really not suitable for social networking. Is that going to stop me? No. I am going to post to my blog and share the blog post.
