True education is a need.

I view education as the development of new skills and general mental development. I also view this form of development as a necessity in life.

In order to live an acceptable life, we can’t just live lives of mindless incompetence. If everybody lives that life, progress will dry up (even more so than the present) and quality of life will continue to deteriorate. Ultimately, this would would lead to a point where life and the continuance of the human race would become meaningless.

Unfortunately, some misguided egotistical sub-humans with power jumped to the opposite conclusion. They actually viewed education as an enemy of humanity and created the concept of schooling. While the original purpose of the schools has been forgotten by most, the anti-educational values are still highly visible to this day. The schools have redefined “education” to mean schooling rather than actual education. With so many people taking education for granted, a lot of people who claim to support education side with the schools rather than true education.

Let me put this another way. Education is a need. Schooling is at war with education. People who take education for granted assume that the term “education” is sufficient evidence that schooling is educational. These people insist that education is important, and want to convince others that they support the concept. They use this flawed logic to justify support for the schools. If we combine these things, we will discover that a lot of people who claim to believe in education are ultimately supporting the war against the necessity.
