Washington is a state. America’s capital is DC. My state has a name that is frequently confused with a more commonly used name for the capital. This is because the country forced our name on us. The least they can do is let us use our name.
DC has a lot of problems. It is an insult to have a corrupt city in the east tarnish our reputation. While I don’t have problems with the NHL’s Capitals, I definitely have problems with their name. To me, they are not the Washington Capitals. They are the DC Capitals.
