My Idea Outlet: Social Networking+>Openness>Protocols>Logins

A new page, Openness>Protocols>Logins, has been added to my Social Networking+ notebook for My Idea Outlet. The contents can be found below.

When you log in to an inclusive social network, you should be able to use those credentials throughout the internet. Each social network should combine their approach to security with protocols designed to allow access to third party sites. Because of how much you will rely on social networking credentials, extra precautions need to be taken around security.

Before any protocols are developed, security experts would need to be consulted. I don't have a background in this important area, but I will still brainstorm.

Depending on your social network and the software available, there are several options for logging in. Some people might have automatic logins when they start their computers. Others might be asked to log in every time they open a web browser. Some might open a tab in their browser and log in through their social networks' web pages.

Instead of creating a separate account for each website that you use, websites will check with your social network to validate your identity. When this happens, you may be asked to grant permission. Alternatively, you might be given a simple notification.

There should probably be multiple login protocols. Some websites will require more information than who you are. Other sites will have a lightweight login simply to keep track of your settings. These should not be handled in the same manner, and I intend to look at options in the future.
