Equality and superiority

I believe in the core concepts of equality. Based off of the kind of dialog we hear in regards to politics, that seems like something to push me closer to the Democrats. If you look a little deeper, this is actually something that pushes me away from their party.

I could turn this into a discussion about race. After all, the Democrats seem to believe in racial division and the idea that minorities should be given preferential treatment. There is already too much talk about race, and I want to look elsewhere.

When it comes to equality, I think there is one place that really helps establish the views of the Democrats. Do Democrats believe they are equals to Republicans? Absolutely not.

Democrats seem to believe that they are enlightened. They embrace the idea that anyone who deviates from their opinions must be shown the way. If people fail to accept liberal opinions as facts, the Democrats don't hesitate to look down.

This flawed sense of enlightenment has generated a sense of superiority. The Democrats truly believe that they know what everybody must think. In order to push their messages, they must have as much control as they can acquire. They believe their job is to control everything and everyone. It never occurs to them to look at why people deviate from liberal views. Some of these people have valid concerns with the liberal agenda. Democrats never consider looking at the different perspectives. In many cases, these alternative perspectives can help find legitimate concerns with the supposedly enlightened and superior perspective.
