My Idea Outlet: Educational Rights>Public Option>Description

A new page, Public Option>Description, has been added to my Educational Rights notebook for My Idea Outlet. The contents can be found below.

When I started this project, I framed everything based off of how an educational rights organization could function. Among the more significant areas of exploration has been an educational resource center. If I had ultimate power to develop and maintain an educational resource center, how would I handle it?

More recently, I have been looking at whether or not these facilities could be offered through public means rather than through a nonprofit organization. I have become convinced that it is possible. It also appears that we might already have a potential starting point.

I am not giving up on my non-profit concept. There are trade-offs between these two approaches, and a nonprofit certainly has advantages. Additionally, the non-profit concept allows more flexibility for brainstorming, which is a major goal of this project.

The general idea for a public option is to expand library systems to embrace more variable educational resources. Physical education would be handled by parks and recreation. Other public agencies would be expected to take education into consideration for decision making. I intend to eventually expand on these components of how to replace public schooling with public education.
