School mandates

Here in Washington, our governor issued mandates that all school employees must be vaccinated. This was while the vaccine was still under emergency authorization, and it included private schools. Obviously, I openly opposed this authoritarian overreach from the very beginning.

I have already discussed my reasons for opposing mandates. The schools added additional problems, which is why I am writing again. Among the problems is that conservative teachers were more likely to oppose mandates than the more abundant and influential liberal teachers. The vaccine mandate was likely to skew an already liberally biased profession that boasts about molding the minds of innocent children further towards a liberal viewpoint.

Teaching is already seriously struggling with mental diversity. Weeding out alternative viewpoints further diminishes diversity. Our schools were pretty much echo chambers already. Did we really need to further tilt things towards the Democrats?

Let's also keep in mind what schools are teaching children. From a young age, we are trained to show obedience to authoritarian figures. Thanks to mandates, any teachers who believed in standing up to authoritarian figures were effectively forced out of the job. Even more now than before, teaching is about children succumbing to authoritarianism.

Most people who rejected the vaccine did so for the wrong reasons. That does not justify the mandates. If you believe in fundamental rights and freedoms, you need to reject forced support for authoritarianism. You need to reject these mandates. For the sake of future generations, we needed to stand up for their best interests.
