Fox News

Fox News is a dishonest propaganda source dedicated to pushing a conservative agenda. By contrast, ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, the Associated Press, New York Times, and Washington Post are dishonest propaganda sources dedicated to pushing a liberal agenda. Simply put, Fox News is just like all other news agencies but with a conservative rather than liberal slant.

Liberals hate Fox News but trust liberal sources. Why? This is because liberal sources match what they want to think. They don't see all the dishonesty coming from the liberal media. The lies that contradict their views are a lot easier for them to see.

Conservatives are in a similar position. They have no problems spotting the dishonesty coming from the liberal media, but they don't see the dishonesty that reinforces what they want to believe. For this reason, they insist that Fox News is the only outlet willing to tell the truth.

What we are encountering is essentially confirmation bias. People tend to trust sources that provide information that reinforces what they want to believe. They are less trusting of sources that contradict their viewpoints and have no problems recognizing dishonesty from the other side.

In recent years, there have been a lot of calls to ban Fox News or to find a way to put them out of business. This would be a disaster. Without Fox News, the Democrats would have total control over the media. The public would be exclusively subjected to the liberal perspective on everything. Instead of a better-informed society, this would result in an even more heavily manipulated society.

Fox News is dishonest and manipulative. I have no problems stating that as a fact. Unfortunately, the same can be said of all mainstream media outlets. This is among the reasons that I have been known to talk about an informational crisis and our entry into the second dark age. I'm perfectly fine with people calling out Fox News for their abundant wrongdoing. What I'm not fine with is people singling out Fox News for engaging in industry-wide practices. I'm sick of people insisting that the solution to our informational crisis is to give exclusive control of information to news agencies that are essentially Fox News with a liberal bias.
